David Worley is a Southeast Idaho husband, father of five, and Army National Guard infantry officer who has spent his adult life in service to his country and his community.

Born and raised in Pocatello, David is a proud Pocatello High School graduate. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Government and International Politics from George Mason University in Virginia, then completed a Master of Arts in Statecraft and National Security Affairs at the Institute of World Politics in Washington, DC. After more than a decade in Virginia, David and his family returned home to Southeast Idaho, where they are building their life and putting down deep roots.

David has served for twenty-three years in the armed forces, including fourteen years on active duty. He is a combat veteran with three deployments to the Middle East, including two tours to Iraq. He has led soldiers as an Infantry Company Commander and served as a Battalion Operations Officer, supervising a planning cell and helping coordinate operations for hundreds of soldiers. During the 2020 civil unrest in Richmond, Virginia, David was activated to support the Virginia National Guard state task force mission focused on protecting lives and property.

Outside the military, David has trained and mentored others in leadership and public service. His background includes coaching high school debate, building curriculum, and managing teams and operations in fast paced environments. Across every role, David’s focus has been the same: lead with clarity, tell the truth, solve problems, and deliver results.

David is running for the Idaho State Senate because he believes government should be accountable to the people, transparent in how it spends taxpayer dollars, and limited to its proper role. He has been outspoken about the need to protect individual rights, support working families and small businesses, and keep local communities strong without pushing mandates or bureaucratic overreach onto everyday life.

In the Legislature, David will bring a service first mindset to the job. He will fight for transparency, responsible budgeting, and a government that respects the people it serves. He and his wife Barbara are raising their five children with gratitude for the communities of Southeast Idaho, and with a commitment to defend the liberties that make Idaho home.
